The Johnson House is a historical Victorian home in Central City, Colorado, used by the Opera House to entertain donors.

This volunteer project came about through ASID (American Society for Interior Designers). A fellow designer and I designed the kitchen space and managed donations for all materials and labor used. Many participated to offer their time and expertise for a successful grand opening in October 2019.

The challenge was to transform an outdated, non-functional kitchen into a more contemporary, functional space to host events. We used a cottage traditional feel in one section of the kitchen to keep with the Victorian style of the home and added more contemporary style products throughout to accomplish our goals.
